A positive OPK tells you your body is trying to ovulate. It doesn’t tell you it did. 🩷
OPKs detect the LH surge. In most cycles ovulation follows, but not always, and in PMOS persistently high LH can give misleading positives.
**To confirm ovulation:**
1. Mid-luteal progesterone, 7 days before your next expected period
2. A sustained rise in basal body temperature
3. If you’ve been getting positives but not falling pregnant, it’s worth checking progesterone. Progesterone above 40nmol/L tells me you have ovulated and ovulated well.
