๐Ÿ’™ HEARING AIDS ARENโ€™T JUST A DEVICE โ€” THEYโ€™RE A JOURNEY.

At Sound Audiology, we do things differently.

Being fitted with hearing aids is only the beginning. Adjusting to hearing again takes time, and we believe good hearing care should include counselling, education, rehabilitation and ongoing support โ€” not simply fitting a device and sending you on your way.

๐Ÿ‘‚ Weโ€™ll explain what to expect in the first few days and weeks.
๐Ÿง  Weโ€™ll help you understand how your brain adapts to hearing sounds again.
๐Ÿ’ฌ Weโ€™ll talk through what feels normal โ€” and what might need adjusting.
๐ŸŽฏ Weโ€™ll set realistic goals based on your hearing and lifestyle.
๐Ÿ”ง Weโ€™ll fine-tune your hearing aids as you experience them in the real world.
๐Ÿค And most importantly, weโ€™ll support you throughout your rehabilitation journey.

Some sounds may seem strange at first. Your own voice might sound different. Background noise may suddenly become noticeable again. It can take time to build confidence and tolerance.

You donโ€™t have to work through that adjustment alone.

At Sound Audiology, our goal isnโ€™t simply to help you hear more โ€” itโ€™s to help you adjust, communicate confidently and get the most from your hearing.

๐Ÿ’™ Personalised hearing care. Education. Rehabilitation. Ongoing support.

Thatโ€™s the Sound Audiology difference.

Hearing Loss & Mental Health ๐Ÿ’™

Not hearing can be isolating, lonely and quiet.

We often see people slowly withdrawing from conversations, social events and even the people they love โ€” not because they donโ€™t want to be involved, but because trying to hear has simply become too difficult and exhausting.

Hearing loss can mean missing the jokes, the stories, the little comments across the dinner table and the everyday sounds that keep us connected to the world around us.

So, check in with your loved ones. If someone seems quieter than usual, avoids social situations, or is struggling to follow conversations, hearing loss may be playing a part.

If you suspect a hearing difficulty, please come and see us at Sound Audiology.

We donโ€™t just want you to hear better. We want you to feel connected, confident and part of the conversation again โ€” because life is full of sounds, voices and moments worth being part of. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‘‚โœจ Have you heard of OAE testing?

OAE (Otoacoustic Emissions) testing is a quick, painless way to check how well the inner ear (cochlea) is functioning.

A small, soft probe is placed in the ear, which plays gentle sounds and measures the earโ€™s response. The best part? No button pressing or response is needed!

This makes OAE testing particularly helpful for:
๐Ÿ‘ถ Babies and young children
๐Ÿง’ Children who may find traditional hearing testing difficult
๐Ÿ‘‚ Checking inner ear function
๐Ÿ” Providing extra information as part of a comprehensive hearing assessment

At Sound Audiology, we use a range of specialised testing to help us build a clearer picture of your hearing and ear health.

Because hearing care is never one-size-fits-all. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’™ This week, weโ€™re getting to know the Staff behind Sound Audiology!

First up is the founder of Sound Audiology and one of our specialists, Holly Sprakel.

When Holly isnโ€™t in the clinic, youโ€™ll often find her spending time in the garden, with her little dog and farm animals, catching up with friends and family, drinking coffee & eating out, or exploring new places.

Holly believes that great care starts with genuine connections โ€” so this week, we thought weโ€™d give you the chance to get to know a little more about the people who care for you! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’™ Why Have Our Prices Increased? ๐Ÿ’™

Like every business, we've seen the cost of living increase. Wages, rent, electricity, water, insurance, equipment, and everyday operating costs have all risen.

But what you're really paying for isn't just an appointment.

You're investing in clinicians who continually expand their knowledge through conferences, seminars, workshops, and ongoing professional development.

You're investing in equipment worth hundreds of thousands of dollars that is professionally serviced and calibrated each year, ensuring every result is accurate and reliable. Even our testing rooms require annual third-party calibration to meet clinical standards.

You're investing in strict infection control, cleaning, sterilisation, quality assurance, internal auditing, and the countless behind-the-scenes processes that ensure your care is safe, accurate, and of the highest standard.

Most importantly, you're investing in the person sitting in front of you.

At Sound Audiology, our clinicians are not paid commissions. We're not rewarded for selling products or meeting sales targets. Our only goal is to recommend what is genuinely best for you.

We chose this profession because we love helping people. We care about your hearing, your health, and your quality of lifeโ€”not because we're paid to care, but because that's who we are.

Thank you for trusting us with something as important as your hearing. We never take that privilege for granted.

๐Ÿ’™ Care that listens. Care that counts.
