I genuinely planned on being the ‘perfect mum’!
My kids were going to eat brilliantly.
They’d sleep when they were supposed to.
We’d do all the right activities.
They would never watch any TV before the age of 3 🫣
And then…I actually became a mum….
I know what it’s like to wonder whether you’re doing enough, feeding them well enough, giving them enough attention, exercising enough yourself, working enough…
I know the guilt of putting the TV on because you just need ten minutes to sit down. Or lie down. Or just stop having someone need something from you for a minute.
But, I’m slowly realising there probably isn’t a version of motherhood where we get all of those things right at the same time.
Life comes in seasons.
Sometimes we’re thriving.
Sometimes we’re getting through the week. Most of the time we’re somewhere in between.
So for all the Mums out there who are doubting themselves - just remember - you’re doing the best you can with the time, energy and resources you have. ❤️
