LIFESKILLS PLUS is a local, community based organisation that
has been providing first class disability services for over two
decades in the Mid West Region. We are the foremost provider of
Post School Programs, Out of School Hours Support for students
with disabilities, Respite Care and community education. For students leaving High School, we also have a Transition to
Work service with professional work readiness skills development
programs and our Community Participation Service which has a
range of programs based on personal and social skills
development. All services offered have rewarding outcomes
and provide new exciting choices for People with Disabilities.

Outings like this give our clients the chance to spend time in familiar local venues, catch up with friends, build confidence in social settings and enjoy being part of the wider community.

We really value the opportunities our local establishments provide for our clients to get out, connect and enjoy everyday experiences together.

Getting creative can get a little messy, and that’s half the fun.

Our clients and staff have been getting stuck into some paper mâché, using balloons, newspaper and plenty of glue to create something from scratch.

Activities like this give our clients the chance to explore their creativity, try new techniques and enjoy hands-on experiences in a relaxed and supportive environment.

At Lifeskills Plus, it’s about creating opportunities to learn, experiment and have fun along the way.

More than a night out, the Disability Ball is an opportunity for our region to come together and celebrate inclusion, connection and community.

This week, we’re learning how to sign “Good Night” in Auslan.

Our Auslan journey isn’t just for our clients.

Our staff are eager to learn too, building their own skills so they can continue creating more opportunities for communication and connection throughout the day.

Learning together is a big part of what makes this series so special, with each new sign adding another little piece to our shared Auslan knowledge.

A beautiful morning out at Sculptures in the Garden.

Last week, some of our clients and staff made the most of the event’s final week with a visit to Rosby W**e, starting the morning with coffee and morning tea before exploring the gardens and incredible sculptures throughout the grounds.

They also had the chance to check out the My Kingdom for a Horse community project, adding another special element to the morning.

We loved Sculptures in the Garden and are so grateful to have events like this right here in our region, giving our clients opportunities to get out, explore, connect and enjoy everything our local community has to offer.

A little friendly competition at Club Mudgee 🎯

Some of our clients recently enjoyed a few games of darts, plenty of laughs and the chance to spend time together outside of Lifeskills Plus in a relaxed social setting.

We really value having local venues like Club Mudgee where our clients can get out in the community, catch up with friends and enjoy activities together.

These everyday opportunities for connection and social participation are such an important part of building confidence and belonging.

Making the most of the warmer weather with a game of T-ball at Lifeskills Plus. ☀️

Having plenty of outdoor space gives our clients the opportunity to get active, try different sports and enjoy being part of the game at their own pace.

Activities like T-ball are a great way to build confidence, coordination and teamwork, while also making the most of time outside with friends and staff.
