Ever had pain in your lower right back when you moved your left shoulder? 🤔 It sounds like a mystery, but the answer is often found in how our muscles work together as a team!
Meet the Posterior Oblique Chain (POC)!
Think of it as a diagonal sling made of muscle and connective tissue. It connects your left Lat (the big muscle under your arm) all the way across your back to your right Glute (your butt muscle).
This sling’s main job is to stabilize your right sacroiliac joint (SIJ) when you move.
We recently treated a patient where this “sling” was out of sync. Every time they moved their left arm, the connection didn’t “lock,” causing stress and tenderness in their right lower back (right over the SIJ).
How we fixed it? We didn’t just treat the pain in the back.
We treated the function of the whole chain.
By teaching the Left Lat and the Right Glute how to fire together properly, we restored stability and got them moving pain-free!
