Why the under-eye area often shows age first!

The skin here is some of the thinnest on the body, with very little fat to cushion what lies beneath — so structural changes underneath show through early.

A few things happen as we age:

The orbital bone gradually recedes, removing the scaffolding soft tissue once relied on. Fat pads that sit in careful balance shift — thinning in places, appearing to bulge in others. Collagen and elastin decline, so skin loses its resilience. And the ligaments anchoring everything loosen, letting tissue descend.

Together, this is what creates the tear trough hollow and shadowing so many clients describe as looking “tired” — even when they’re not.

Understanding which of these changes is driving what you’re seeing is where we come in. This steers you toward our most suitable recommendations - sometimes it’s lasers and skin treatments and other times it cosmetic medical treatments.
