We couldn’t let the beautiful flowers from our Dying to Know Day at Shoalhaven Memorial Gardens go to waste.

So, we gave them a second life. 🌸

The wonderful team at Shoalhaven Flowers carefully transformed the original casket cover arrangement into beautiful posies and bouquets, ready to bring a little colour and joy to others.

David and Chris from our Nowra team then delivered them to Shoalhaven Place Aged Care in Bomaderry, where the flowers are now brightening the dining area and being enjoyed by residents.

A special thank you to Catherine and Ashley at Shoalhaven Flowers for generously providing the original arrangement and going the extra mile to carefully pull it apart, rework the flowers and package them up for the residents.

And thank you to Simone Shaw, Care Manager at Shoalhaven Place, for welcoming us and helping us share these beautiful blooms.

Kindness has a way of living on.

As part of a little initiative we've been working on with Shoalhaven City Council , we're giving families the opportunity to donate the casket cover flowers after their loved one's funeral services, allowing these beautiful blooms to continue bringing comfort long after the service has ended.

The donated flowers are lovingly collected by the Shoalhaven Bereavement Services team, who carefully transform them into beautiful posies and floral arrangements.

These arrangements are then placed on the graves of babies and children at Worrigee Cemetery, becoming a quiet tribute of love, remembrance and care. 🕊️🤍

We're incredibly grateful to everyone at Shoalhaven Bereavement Services who generously gives their time, compassion and creativity to this meaningful initiative. It's a beautiful example of our community coming together to ensure that even in loss, kindness continues to bloom. 💐

Every year, encourages communities across Australia to talk openly about death, dying and end-of-life planning.

On Wednesday, 12th August, our Nowra team will be attending SMGLC Bereavement Services' Dying to Know Day at Shoalhaven Memorial Gardens & Lawn Cemetery, an event that encourages open conversations about death, dying and the importance of planning ahead.

It's a great chance to learn more about end-of-life planning, ask questions, and find out what resources are available to help you plan ahead with confidence.

On the day, we'll have a table inside Reflections Café, where you can stop by for a friendly chat, pick up a complimentary Personal Profile booklet, and ask any questions you may have about planning ahead.☕📖

We hope to see you there as we come together to encourage conversations that matter.

In celebration of NAIDOC Week, Amber, David and Rina from our Nowra team were proud to attend the Shoalhaven NAIDOC Family Fun Day event held yesterday at the Nowra Showground. 🌿🖤💛❤️

This year's theme, "50 Years Deadly," celebrates five decades since NAIDOC became a formal week-long national observance, recognising the strength, resilience and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while honouring the Elders, activists and communities who have shaped the movement over the past 50 years.

🤝 Having supported so many families through Sorry Business, it was a privilege to give back to the community in a different way. Our team fired up the BBQ and proudly cooked and served more than 500 sausage sandwiches 🌭 for everyone who attended.

🎶 With live entertainment, cultural activities, family fun and a fantastic community atmosphere, it was a wonderful day celebrating culture, connection and community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, we're honoured to be part of such a meaningful event.
