Most courses follow a familiar format.

Sit. Listen. Take notes. Leave with a few new ideas.

There's nothing wrong with that.

But Diastasis Done Differently was never designed to be that kind of course.

The goal isn't simply to give you more information.

The goal is to change how you think about Diastasis Re**us Abdominis (DRA).

Because when you change how you think, you can:
✔ Make decisions with more confidence and less guesswork
✔ Adapt to the individual in front of you rather than relying on rigid protocols
✔ Progress clients without creating unnecessary fear or frustration
✔ Explain your reasoning more clearly
✔ Make sense of conflicting advice
✔ Build programs that fit the person's goals and circumstances
✔ Help people return to the activities that matter to them

One of the most common pieces of feedback we receive is that participants leave with a completely different perspective on diastasis. One that is less fearful. More hopeful.

Not because they've memorised another protocol.

But because they have a clearer framework for assessment, management, and decision-making.

There is no shortage of information about diastasis.

The challenge is knowing what to do with it.

“Brilliant.” “Amazing.” “So incredibly informative.”

These were just some of the words participants used to describe Monika Leitner’s recent seminar, Revisiting Pelvic Floor Exercises.

💬 “Thank you for such a thorough presentation both in the research and in the nuance of it all.”

💬 “This has been so incredibly informative!”

💬 “This was brilliant Monika.”

💬 “Your thoughts and how you got there are so interesting and have provoked much thought in how I can apply these principles.”

💬 “Lots to take away.”

💬 “Thank you for the excellent information and interesting perspective.”

What stood out most was not just the quality of the research, but how Dr Monika Leitner connected the science, clinical reasoning, and practical application.

If you work with active women, female athletes, or anyone experiencing pelvic floor symptoms during exercise, this course will challenge assumptions, deepen your understanding, and provide a practical framework for helping women return confidently to running, jumping, lifting, and sport.

One past attendee described Diastasis Done Differently as:

“Very practical and a great course to get you thinking differently about challenging your clients
and how you approach them…” 🧠

That’s really what this course is about.

Sometimes we think learning is just about adding more information. 📚

But it should also include questioning assumptions you didn’t even realise you had.🤔

Across the course, we also explore how to:

✔️ Assess using a biopsychosocial framework 🧠
✔️ Move beyond rigid protocols to principles you can apply 🔑
✔️ Help clients return to their goal activities without being unnecessarily slow or over-cautious 🚀
✔️ Understand what’s happening in real time with ultrasound 📡
✔️ Build individualised, practical programs for real people 👥

If you’re ready to think differently about diastasis, I’d love to see you in person. 🤍

Impact isn’t the enemy, the issue is often whether the pelvic floor has the capacity to manage it. ⚖️

Too often, active women are told they MUST avoid impact activities and that high-intensity training is inherently harmful for the pelvic floor. 🚫🏃‍♀️ But the evidence tells a different story.

Join Dr Monika Leitner as she challenges outdated beliefs around pelvic floor dysfunction and stress urinary incontinence in active women, offering a more practical and research-informed framework for rehabilitation and performance. 🧠📚

Revisiting Pelvic Floor Exercises is now approved for 4.5 US PT CEUs across 40+ states ✅ making it an even more valuable opportunity for clinicians looking to advance their practice.

Why aren’t pelvic floor exercises working for some women? 🤔

Maybe because pelvic floor function is about more than strength alone…

Running, jumping, coughing, sneezing, and impact happen in milliseconds, often faster than a voluntary pelvic floor contraction can respond.

So maybe the better question is:
How do we improve the pelvic floor’s ability to respond to load? 💭

In Revisiting Pelvic Floor Exercises, Dr Monika Leitner explores pelvic floor function during impact, reflexive responses, load management, and practical strategies to support women returning confidently to running, jumping, and sport.

This seminar challenges outdated ideas around “good” and “bad” exercises and provides a practical framework for clinicians working with active women and female athletes.

“As a physical therapist working in a hospital setup, diastasis was always a question mark for me…”

That uncertainty is more common than people realise.

Many clinicians were never taught much about DRA during training. So they piece things together from social media, observation, courses, and conflicting opinions.

This course was designed to challenge that confusion.

Not with more fear surrounding DRA.
Not with more rigid rules.

But with:
✔️ Critical thinking
✔️ Real-time ultrasound
✔️ Practical principles
✔️ Clinically relevant application

Most importantly: Treat the person, not just the diastasis.

Conflicting diastasis advice is everywhere.
Programs, protocols, and opinions that don’t always align 🤯

No wonder clinicians and coaches feel unsure what actually works.

This course takes a step back.

Not more rules.
Not more “don’t do this.”

👉 A clearer way to think.

You’ll learn how to:

✔️Assess using a biopsychosocial framework 🧠
✔️Move beyond rigid protocols to principles you can apply 🔑
✔️Help clients return to their goal activities — without being unnecessarily slow or over-cautious 🚀
✔️Understand what’s happening in real time with ultrasound 📡

This is about changing how you think — so you can change how you help.

About 40% of women will experience pelvic organ prolapse.

Around 50% of women who exercise experience incontinence.

Up to 1 in 7 will experience pelvic pain in their lifetime.

This isn’t a niche problem.

So the question becomes…
Are we helping them do the things that matter to them? 🤔

Because this isn’t about managing symptoms.
It’s about what those symptoms are stopping them from doing.

We hear it again and again after this course.

Messages from past attendees sharing how it has transformed not only their practice, but the lives of the women they support. 💭❤️

You’re already doing good work.

This is about refining it. 🔎

Understanding it more deeply. 🧠

And helping more women get back
to what they actually want to do. 🏃‍♀️💃🏋️‍♂️

That’s what this course is for.

Not just learning what to do.
Actually experiencing it first.

So you leave knowing:
“I can actually do this.” 💪

If that resonates, this is your invitation:

23/04/2026

I used to think if I followed all the “right” protocols, every client should improve.

But real life doesn’t always work like that.

Some people didn’t get better… even when everything was done by the book.

Other times, I broke the so-called rules… and they improved anyway.

That forced me to question a lot of what I’d been taught.

What I eventually realised was this:

👉 It’s not about memorising protocols ✖️
👉 It’s about understanding principles ✔️

Because principles help you adapt to the person in front of you.
Protocols often assume everyone is the same.

That shift changed how I approached diastasis, rehab, exercise, pain, movement, and clinical reasoning as a whole.

Since 2013, I’ve been teaching these ideas around the world — helping clinicians move beyond rigid rules and build confidence in real-world decision making.

Now I’m bringing Diastasis Done Differently to Melbourne.

If you’d like to:
✔ Understand what current research actually says
✔ Build confidence with assessment and programming
✔ Learn principles you can use with many different clients
✔ Move beyond fear, myths, and outdated thinking
