A question we are often asked at Penhall Funerals is, “What is the difference between a Funeral Service and a Memorial Service?”
A Funeral Service is held with the person present in their coffin or casket, allowing family and friends to gather, reflect, and say their final farewell before burial or cremation. A Memorial Service, on the other hand, takes place after burial or cremation and provides an opportunity to celebrate and remember a loved one’s life when they are no longer physically present.
Our experienced and compassionate team at Penhall Funerals are honoured to guide families through both types of services, ensuring every farewell is meaningful and reflects the wishes of those we serve.
On Thursday 4 June, we had the privilege of conducting a Memorial Service for the Late Mr. Edward “Ted” Kelly in The Penhall Memorial Chapel. We extend our sincere thanks to Fr. Greg Kennedy, who travelled from his parish in Dubbo to officiate the service with warmth and dignity.
Ted was an Orange man through and through. During his working life, he was employed at EMAIL and was devoted to both his family and his community. He had a lifelong love of golf and was renowned for his good-natured sledging on the greens, always bringing laughter to those around him. In his younger years, Ted played football and remained a proud CYMS Old Boy, with his involvement in the club and many other organisations reflected by the three ties displayed in his honour.
To Ted’s family, thank you for entrusting him to our care. It was our great honour to celebrate his life and assist you in creating a fitting tribute to a man who will be fondly remembered by so many.
