My name is Abigail, I knew nothing about head & Neck cancer before my husband was diagnosed with it. The impact on our life has been huge. We are no longer are able to just hop on an airplane and go somewhere. If overseas we must get import permits for food and equipment before departing for both where we are going and Australia for when we get back. When we travel we must work out duration, consumption and allow for a contingence. Day to day is hard as my husband has a severe speech impairment after the removal of his tongue, so understanding what he says is frustrating not only for him but those that are listening. My husband no longer eats food so sitting eating something in front of him can be emotionally upsetting for both of us.
