RELEASE. At some point, you have to let go and trust.
Trust that it’s as it will be,
that you are enough,
that you’re loveable,
that you’ll be okay.
At some point, you have to stop bracing against the wind and just flow instead.
See where it carries you, trust it’s where you need to be and that you’ll never have regrets if you would only release yourself to the magic.
Release yourself to the magic and let go.
You’re holding on too tight.
It was never yours to control.

The first half of life is about becoming who you needed to be to survive. The second half is about unravelling everything that’s no longer aligned with your soul’s purpose. That’s not a midlife crisis – it’s a rebirth.

Love this reframe about mid life. I hope it inspires you.
Blessings

THE KARMA THIEF
I think karma is a giant jar of light we store within our souls. And every time we say or do something kind, we take light from that jar and give it away. And karma, being the magical force it is, will send that light back to us on days when we need it most. But that light will be even brighter, when it comes back, because we gave it away in good heart you see. Likewise, when we say or do something mean, we also take light from our jar, light that never comes back, light that is disposed of, wasted, sent to the darkness without ever living its purpose. Light that could have made this world a better place. And that meanness, that wasted light, also includes the way you treat yourself. So if you're wondering why your karma does not reflect your kind heart…check your inner critic. She may have been busy, stealing light.

Work-in-Progress Wednesday: INTRODUCING "DAFFODIL DISCOVERY" 🐭🌼

Work-in-Progress Wednesday ends with a finished piece! ✨

This artwork is the fourth piece in my Harvest Mouse series. Each piece in this series explores a different moment of discovery in nature 🌱

I loved imagining this little mouse's journey through the lush garden greenery, coming upon these vibrant daffodils and crocuses for the first time 😊

You can almost feel his wonder and excitement as he stumbles across such beautiful, bright blossoms nestled right in his path 🐭

Creating this piece was such an enjoyable process for me. I sought to balance the softly blurred background with sharp, precise details in the foreground, to create depth and realism 🎨

Capturing this little mouse in his full environment presented the unique challenge of making sure the surrounding foliage complements the mouse without overpowering his delicate features 🌿

For the background I used a few PanPastel Artist Pastels, soft pastel pencils and soft pastel sticks from Sennelier, Schmincke and Unison Colour, as well as a couple of Rembrandt sticks.

For the details, and throughout the piece, I used soft pastel pencils from Derwent Art, Koh-i-noor Gioconda, Caran d'Ache, STABILO CarbOthello and Faber-Castell Pitt 🖌️

🐭 UPDATE: I completely forgot to mention one of the most important tools used for this piece! I relied heavily on Sennelier Woodless Pastel Pencils to achieve the realistic fur texture 🐾

I'd like to extend special thanks to The Mouse family that live by the brambles for permission to use such a lovely reference photo. Thank you, Gez 🙏
