Know someone living or working remotely? Medical supplies may be closer than they think. 💊🩺

Medical Chests are lockable steel containers with a comprehensive range of medicines and first aid gear inside. Looked after by custodians, the Medical Chests can be used for both emergency and non-emergency treatment when people in remote areas have no immediate access to a hospital or clinic is available.

Every item is numbered, so when someone falls ill or gets hurt, they can call the Royal Flying Doctor Service and an RFDS doctor talks them through exactly what to use, while deciding whether further care or an aeromedical retrieval is needed.

It's a simple idea that brings the doctor's bag to the bush, keeping people safe where distance is the biggest risk.
