It’s Key Word Sign Awareness day! KWS is a form of Augmentative and Alternative Communication that we may use in the early stages of language and speech development, or with communicators who are non-speaking but cannot learn Auslan (Australian Sign Language). It uses the most common signs from Auslan to communicate main points essential to functional communication.
