Leaps Ahead Early Intervention

Leaps Ahead Early Intervention LAEI is a Tasmanian NDIS-registered allied health service based in Glenorchy, Hobart.

We support children aged 2–16 years with therapeutic and behaviour support services, offered both at our centre and across the state. At Leaps Ahead, we strive to empower families to move towards age-appropriate levels in all areas of their child's development by providing individually tailored programs based on the principles and techniques of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Behaviour analysis is at the heart of what we do and its recognition within the NDIS matters πŸ’šβœ¨

The way β€œbehaviour” is interpreted within the NDIS has real consequences.

Too often, behaviour analysis is treated as though it belongs only within specialist behaviour support. That narrow framing overlooks the broader role Certified Behaviour Analysts play in helping people with disability build communication, independence, emotional regulation, daily living, learning and participation skills across the lifespan.

Without a dedicated pricing line item, our profession remains poorly understood and difficult to identify within the Scheme. Planners, Local Area Coordinators and other stakeholders may incorrectly assume that behaviour analysts cannot deliver therapeutic and capacity-building supports. The result is confusion for providers and reduced access for participants.

ABA Australia’s Pricing Survey will help us demonstrate how the current arrangements are affecting behaviour analysts, services and the people they support.

If you are a behaviour analyst in Australia, please take a few minutes to share your experience before the survey closes at midnight on Monday, 13 July:
