Explore the range of options available, key considerations in the selection process, and how to match equipment to each client’s individual needs and goals. Yesterday at GTK Newcastle, we welcomed allied health professionals to our Advanced Seating Assessment and Prescription workshop.

Led by Kate Pain and the GTK team, the session combined clinical insights with practical, hands-on exploration of seating and positioning equipment, with a focus on building confidence in navigating the complexities of seating assessment and prescription.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and made the day such a great opportunity to share knowledge, ask questions and connect with fellow clinicians.

Spend a full day building your clinical reasoning across both power and manual wheelchair prescription, or join us for the session most relevant to your practice.��The morning session (9am–12pm) explores the often overlooked variables that influence power wheelchair performance, helping you better understand how specifications, design and programming impact function, access and participation.��

In the afternoon (1pm–3pm), we shift focus to manual wheelchairs, unpacking the balance between mobility, postural support and pressure care through practical discussion, product exploration and clinical application.

Join us for an upcoming education session in Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney or Melbourne with Joana Santiago (The OT Lab), where complex seating is broken down into practical, real-world application.

This session will explore key considerations when assessing both young and older clients with complex postural needs.
