This week, one of our clients reached out asking if we would nominate their support worker, Kristie for the Kismet Awards – Support Worker of the Year (Disability Services).

Their email spoke for itself.

Today we received confirmation that the nomination has officially progressed to the judging stage.

Kristie has embodied everything the name Care Done Differently stands for. Her compassion, professionalism and genuine connection with the people she supports are exactly why our clients place their trust in us every day.

We're excited to share our August Day Program Calendar, packed with opportunities to get out into the community, build connections, learn new skills, and most importantly, have some fun!

This month we've made a conscious effort to focus on more community-based experiences, giving participants the opportunity to explore local attractions, enjoy social outings, stay active, and connect with others in meaningful ways. While we'll still have some of our favourite regular activities, August is all about getting out and making the most of what our local community has to offer.

Whether it's discovering somewhere new, catching up with friends, or trying something different, there's something for everyone.

Our Day Program runs Monday to Friday from 10:00am – 2:00pm, and participants are welcome to join as many or as few activities as they'd like.

🌭 Sausage Sizzle Fridays are here!

Sometimes the best conversations happen over something as simple as a sausage sandwich.

Every Friday from 11:30am – 1:30pm, we'll have the BBQ fired up outside the Care done differently office, creating a relaxed space where people can grab a snag, have a chat, and connect with others.

Whether you're a participant, support coordinator, provider, family member, or you're simply passing by, you're invited. No bookings, no expectations, just good food, good company, and a welcoming community.

At Care Done Differently, we believe that strong communities are built through small moments of connection, and we'd love for you to be part of it.

We’re excited to share our July Day Program Calendar at Care Done Differently!

This month’s program offers a variety of opportunities for participants to connect, learn new skills, stay active, and enjoy meaningful community experiences. From local walks and social outings to creative activities, bowling, zoo visits, bingo, knitting groups, and our monthly Men’s and Women’s Groups, there’s something for everyone.

Our Day Program runs Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 2:00pm, with activities designed to promote:

✅ Community participation
✅ Independence and confidence building
✅ Skill development
✅ Fun and meaningful experiences

Where are Jack & Hanah this week??

Tomorrow we fly out on the red eye to WA!

Care Done Differently will be attending the able.plus Rockingham Event on Wednesday and for me, this one feel's incredibly special. 💙

What started as a vision in NSW and continued growing through the amazing connections and impact, we’ve been able to create in QLD, is now opening doors in WA.

To see Care Done Differently expanding across the country is something we don’t take lightly. Every conversation, every participant, every support worker, and every community connection has helped build the foundation that’s brought us to this point.

We’ve always believed disability support should feel personal, empowering, and genuinely community-focused, not just another service. Being able to take that same approach, the same values, and the same passion into Western Australia is a huge milestone for us.

The Able Plus Pty Ltd Rockingham Event is more than just another networking opportunity. It’s a chance to connect, learn, grow, and continue building something that creates real impact in people’s lives.

We’re excited to officially introduce Leisha Hunter as part of the Care Done Differently team in Brisbane.

Leisha brings over four years of experience in the disability support sector and is passionate about providing genuine, person-centred care to people with a wide range of support needs.

Leisha's experience includes personal care, dementia support, palliative care, community access, medication assistance, and supporting clients with complex behaviours.

What stands out most about Leisha is her calm nature, strong communication skills, and commitment to helping clients maintain their independence, wellbeing, and connection to the community. Leisha approaches every situation with compassion, professionalism, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

We’re proud to have Leisha representing Care Done Differently across Brisbane and look forward to the impact she will continue to make for our clients, families, and community.

Motherhood comes in many forms.
Some are raising little humans, some are raising adults, some are grieving, some are longing, and some are simply surviving one day at a time.

Today we celebrate the strength behind the scenes.
The sleepless nights.
The worry no one sees.
The sacrifices made quietly.
The endless love given without expecting anything in return.
