I think we need to be asking bigger questions.
Not just
“Am I taking care of my body?”
But
“From what place am I taking care of her?”
We live in bodies that are deeply alive, wombs, hearts, fascia, even bones that are all listening and responding.
Not only to what we are choosing but also why we are choosing it.
Am I moving body because I want to be fitter because that’s what I think is more attractive? Or am I moving body to be supple and strong and able to carry me through my life without being in pain?
Am I building relationships with people who truly light me up and inspire me or am I seeking approval from people I think elevate my status?
Am I using my self care routine to actually listen and respond to what I need or am I checking boxes and ignoring what actually works for my unique physiology?
We cannot fool or force our bodies into thinking they are being accepted and loved no matter how much organic food we eat or pilates classes we go to.
It may take time to build. But like all healthy relationships when our bodies feel truly cared for and accepted they want to care back for us in return.
