Footy is sadly over for this year, but it was a good one, despite no Victorian clubs in the Grand Final. And as seems to happen every year, next year already seems so promising for so many teams.
Despite not having any Freo or Brisbane supporters in the Village, there was a good crowd, plenty of cheering, (mostly for Freo), and a classic foot food spread, as we watched Brisbane win in a truly thrilling final. The post match celebrations continued on till "reasonably" late I'm told.

A pleasant musical morning at Renaissance Living was wonderfully organised by Julia, a very talented and motivated student from Strathcona Girls Grammar.
Renaissance residents were treated to another terrific performance by Julia and her group of talented youngsters. Ranging from 10yrs old to a Melbourne University, Conservatorium of Music student, these are all serious musicians that play at an extremely competent level.
Presenting to perfection works by Bach, Vivaldi, Beriot, Tchaikovsky and Falla to name just a few, it was a terrific thing to see and hear.
The event started off the back of Victoria’s usual free barista coffee morning on a Wednesday and was such a pleasant way to roll into a late lunch.

Spring is here and we already have some beautiful flowers in the front garden. Bring on the sunshine and warmer weather..

We met this lovely young lady as a music teacher with a small studio across the Road from us. She organised her young students to play end of term concerts for us, which we adore and always gave us a song herself to round out the show.
We also knew she is an aspiring artist and now Alisay Rae has her first Album Release "For the Night" out and David was lucky enough to be invited to the launch on Saturday Night.

Classical Music at Morning Coffee
Renaissance was host to another group of talented musicians on Wednesday, this time leaning into the classical space.
Julia Rozenkov, and her talented friends were looking to stay sharp over the school holidays, so she rallied them together to put on an amazing show for us, featuring duets and solos on piano, violin, cello. Performing works by works by Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Beethoven, Chopin and Prokofiev, these young artists had us spellbound, I mean they are seriously seriously good.
The performance followed on from our usual Wednesday morning barista coffee with Victoria and was so well received we are already organising to have them back during the next school break.

Alisya finished the night with a wonderful song, very sentimental to her, that many would remember from Young Talent Time! I found it very hard to not sway and sing along while taking the video.

It was terrific to have Alisya Reas Music Studio students back in for Term 2, 2026. You can see the enjoyment on the kids face as they perform and how they respond to our residents applause. For many of the students its their 4th or 5th time performing at Renaissance and their confidence has grown with the familiarity.
