Why we track... it’s not just about the numbers! 📏💩

​In feeding therapy, growth and bowel monitoring are our best diagnostic tools. Here’s why:

​📍 Growth dictates the goal: Our clinical approach changes completely depending on whether a child is eating adequately to support growth. If they aren’t, we focus on safety and calories; if they are, we can shift our focus to variety and skill-building.

​📍 The "Blocked Pipe" effect: Research tells us that if the "pipes" are backed up, it physically stalls how much food can go in. You can’t fill a tank that’s already full! 🛑
​Monitoring these two areas is the foundation for a successful feeding plan. Stay tuned for Part 2! ✨
