💙 ….together for Blue Day 💙
Today, proudly showing support for people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), residents and staff came together for Blue Day 2026 - Fighting MND.
Dressed in shades of blue, our community united to raise awareness and funds that help improve care for those affected by MND, while supporting vital research into better treatments and a cure.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and donated. Every contribution, big or small, helps make a difference.
Together, we are raising awareness, supporting those impacted by MND, and helping to bring hope for a brighter future.

… a mother’s love stays with us forever 🩷
Today we say thank you to the incredible women in our community — for your kindness, resilience, guidance, humour, and the countless ways you have cared for others throughout your lives.
We hope today reminds you just how loved and valued you are.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mums and mother figures we are privileged to know. 💐

…pampered and ready 💅🏻
In the lead up to Mother’s Day this weekend, our residents enjoyed a well-deserved pamper session filled with relaxation, laughter, and a touch of glamour.
From fresh nails and soothing foot spas to finishing the afternoon with delicious Baileys martinis, the day was all about making our mothers feel special — relaxed, refreshed, and ready to celebrate in style. 🩷

A message from our Chaplain, Ian Lutze this Anzac Day. ❤️

While it is 111 years this year since the Gallipoli Landing and all of what this came to mean for the formation of our nation, it is perhaps not so hard to think of 111 good reasons to be grateful for the sacrifice made by so many of our service men and women over the years. Apart from the Bombing of Darwin most of our victims of war have been people in uniform as opposed to civilians. Yet so many civilians, across Australia and even in nursing homes, continue to feel the grief of those who did not come home, or came home badly damaged. We continue to acknowledge Anzac Day because it continues to mean so much to so many people.

Harmony Week! 🌏✨
Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world, and Harmony Week encourages communities to come together to appreciate different cultures, traditions, and languages.
As part of our Harmony Week celebrations, our residents were treated to a vibrant and energetic performance by some incredibly talented belly dancers—and they certainly didn’t disappoint. From the colourful costumes to the graceful music and flowing movements, the room was filled with smiles and plenty of applause.
It’s been a week all about connection, celebrating diversity, and sharing joyful experiences—making it a truly memorable and uplifting time for everyone involved.

The 2026 Lifestyle and Wellbeing Program is already off to a fantastic start, introducing a range of new and engaging activities for our residents. From Literacy Club and 'This Day in History' discussions, to relaxing Movie Afternoons and lively Pub Quizzes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, learn from and be part of. 📽️

This week, our residents fastened their seatbelts and went aboard LHB Airlines for a virtual adventure to France! Complete with passports in hand, delicious French cuisine to sample, and a guided tour through the sights and culture of this beautiful country, it was an immersive experience full of laughter, learning and a little wanderlust. 👩🏻‍✈️

We can’t wait to see where LHB Airlines will take us next! ✈️

We’re on a roll… and yes, we’re bowled over by it! 🎳

There’s been some excitement on the sporting front over the last few months, and we’re delighted to celebrate an astonishing achievement by the Lutheran Homes Barossa lawn bowls team. Last month, at 'Night Owls' at the Nuriootpa Bowling Club, our team enjoyed an unexpected win — taking out the entire night! Safe to say, we were all a little shocked (and very proud!).

Of course, in true sporting fashion, the following week brought us back down to earth with a rather hefty loss — proving once again that bowls, like life, has its ups and downs.

Commiserations (and good-natured rivalry firmly intact!) to the team we played in that winning round — our very own Nuriootpa Retirement Living residents. Win or lose, it’s all about connection, laughter and community spirit… and on that front, everyone came out on top.

Our January Recap ✨

We’ve kicked off the new year with plenty of smiles and moments to celebrate!

Our residents have enjoyed some cheerful gatherings in the Tuscany Café, sharing good company and great conversation. ☕
We had lots of fun naming our newest little friends — our hermit crabs 🦀 please welcome Snickers, Taffy, Chloe, Claws and Hermie!
The lead up to Australia Day was filled with creativity, plenty of arts and crafts keeping everyone busy and inspired. 🎨

As the heat continues this week, we’ve been making the most of cooler indoor activities to stay comfortable. We hope everyone is keeping cool and looking after themselves too! 💛
