Oh my - cleaning out the cupboards to prepare for new flooring. Pulled out my 45 year old Royal Albert teaset and as I lifted the handle of the teapot it broke in two. I then lifted the lid on the coffee pot and the top also fell off. This 1981 Autumn Rose collection is no longer in circulation and the price to replace a teapot is around $800! I have not used it in years and was not aware that they dry out and fracture just like osteoporosis. In order to prevent this they need to be in regular use! So Ladies if you have fine bone China don’t wait for that special occasion otherwise you might look in the cupboard one day and find they have suffered the same fate - these lovelies need movement just like we do. I can glue my lovely teapot but sadly she will be retired from tea duties now and will only be available for ornamental purposes. 🫖😕
