Hi all! I am back to work tomorrow! I just wanted to give a heads up that I have spent a good chunk of my vacation sick with a chest infection which is still lingering. I am not contagious but have a funny voice and a random cough. I will be wearing a mask anyway for hygiene purposes. So all will go ahead like normal with appointments, if you however aren't comfortable then you can absolutely let me know and we can reschedule no problems.

See you all soon!

🐢🐟🐠World Ocean Day 🐠 🐟 🐢

Today June 8th is World Ocean Day. 🌊 It’s a day for people all around the world to celebrate and honour our oceans.

In support of this important day, world leaders have pledged to protect at least 30% of our blue planet, creating a healthy ocean and climate by 2030 (30x30).

Returning our oceans to a healthy state is a critical part of the solution to the climate crisis. Through education and action, we can protect our planet’s life support systems, such as the ocean, climate, and biodiversity

Every year, there is a theme for World Ocean Day that sets it apart from previous celebrations. The World Ocean Day 2025 theme is as follows:

“Sustaining what sustains us”.

It’s a call to action to get everyone involved in the conservation of our precious oceans for future generations.

How can you do your part for the ocean?

Monitor your plastic usage
Pick up any loose rubbish you see
Don't overfish
Don't take home fish that are undersize
Eat sustainable seafood
Monitor your carbon footprint
Use reusable products where possible eg: shopping bags etc
Participate in a beach cleanup

💕SAY SOMETHING NICE DAY 💕

Today, June 1st is ‘Say Something Nice Day’.

I think it shows a sad state of the world we are living in that a day like this is even needed. But the amount of unkindness and downright nastiness is becoming overwhelming.

With the introduction of social media came the internet troll, and with this came harsh words behind the mask of anonymity. While it seems the case that trolling and being unkind is becoming more and more popular, what we really need is a reason to be nice to one another. The last few years have been a rollercoaster ride for everyone, and living in the pandemic seemingly increased the amount of nastiness when it should have taught us to show more kindness.

When it comes to words, they are truly powerful things. While some people do not recognize it, they are.

Words have the power to lift someone up or they have the power to bring them to their knees, so having the ability to think before you speak is something you shouldn’t be taking advantage of.

So many are struggling and you just don't know what impact your words may have so please , please if you can't be nice then don't say anything at all.

So take a moment to say something nice, not just to others but also to yourself.

Be kind to yourself and those around you.

Check up on your friends, neighbours and family members to see how they are doing. Check up on the elderly

So spread the love today and say something nice !!! Sprinkle that kindness like confetti!!

Comment/tag or share someone or a small business you think deserves a shout out today for being badass and amazing!😁😁

🐝MAY 20TH IS WORLD BEE DAY! 🐝

Today is the day we shine a light on The honey bee, one of our most important pollinators.

Often seen buzzing from flower to flower, it’s as difficult to imagine a life without bees as it is to envisage one without trees.

A world without bees is sadly becoming more of a possibility, as these important insects are in severe decline. If bees were to become extinct the planet could be in serious trouble, because these creatures are such an integral part of most ecosystems.

Why are bees important?

Where trees and woods are essential to filter our air, bees are vital to both pollinate the food we need to survive and pollinate many of the trees and flowers that provide habitats for wildlife.

Pollination is crucial because many of our vegetables, fruits and the crops that feed our livestock rely on it to be fertilised, so without it, we could go hungry. Vegetables such as broccoli, asparagus and cucumber rely on the pollination of bees, as do apricots, strawberries, apples, tomatoes and almonds.

HOW CAN YOU HELP THE BEES?

There are lots of things you can do to help protect these important creatures - most of which can be done from the comfort of your own garden.

Fill your garden with bee-friendly flowers -One of the easiest ways to help out bees is by planting lots of bee-friendly flowers in your garden. Bees favour a wide range of flowering plants, including: marigolds, bee balm, lavender and sunflowers.

Provide shelter - bees need shelter to nest and hibernate in. You can create your own shelter or buy a ready-made bee and insect houses ready to be hung up.

Stop using pesticides - Pesticides are one of the key threats to bees, and so one way to help bees is to stop using them in your own garden where possible.
