How often should you really get your eyes checked? 🤔

Eye examination frequency can vary depending on your individual needs but is typically recommended every 1 to 2 years.

Factors such as age, changes in vision, your prescription and family history can all influence how often you may need an eye examination.

It is also important to pay attention to any changes in your vision, including blurriness, headaches, eye strain or difficulty focusing, as these may indicate a change in your vision or a need to seek professional advice.

Regular eye examinations are an important part of maintaining eye health and can assist in monitoring changes over time.

If it has been a while since your last eye test, it may be time to consider booking an appointment at www.windsoroptometry.com.au/contact-us or calling us on (02) 4577 3471.

On a recent drive into the outback my husband and I came across the grave of Fred Hollows in Bourke. Despite being born in New Zealand his wishes were to be buried ‘under the Coolabah tree in Bourke . His egalitarian principles drove him to improve and restore the sight of the Aboriginal people in the surrounding area in the 1970’s and his pioneering techniques that he refined and standardised would expand to deliver the same outcomes to the impoverished people of the world for which he is famous
Some months later we found ourselves in the eye clinic at the Prince of Wales hospital where Fred Hollows practised and it was like going back in time as the decor was as if he had walked out yesterday !
The same amazing level of care still very much apparent .
What an incredible legacy that still
Lives on today🌸

Today, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice and service of our ANZACs. We remember those who gave so much and reflect with gratitude.

Lest we forget.

Last week, we stepped behind the scenes at our lens lab, Essilor—and it was nothing short of eye-opening. From raw materials to finished lenses, witnessing the precision, technology, and craftsmanship up close gave us a whole new appreciation for the detail behind every pair.

It’s moments like these that remind us just how much expertise goes into delivering clear vision every day.
