At Joint Vision, we often see the difference that early intervention, movement and proactive healthcare can make to a person's long-term wellbeing.
That's one of the reasons we're excited to be involved in Phoenix Health Co alongside Dr Oscar Horky and Katie Horky.
In this short video, Oscar shares a little about his background and why he believes many people need more than a quick appointment or a prescription when it comes to improving their health.
By bringing together medicine, movement and recovery under one roof, Phoenix aims to help people take a more proactive approach to their health before bigger problems develop.
We thought our community would enjoy hearing a little more about the philosophy behind the project and why we're excited to be part of the journey.

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Twisted your knee on the sporting field? Heard that dreaded "pop"? Not every knee injury automatically means surgery.
ACL tears, meniscus injuries and other sports-related knee problems are among the most common injuries we see, affecting everyone from elite athletes to local juniors and weekend warriors.
In our recent blog, orthopaedic surgeon Dr Anil Goudar explains:
βœ… The difference between ACL and meniscus injuries
βœ… Common signs and symptoms to watch for
βœ… When surgery may (and may not) be needed
βœ… Modern treatment and rehabilitation options
βœ… Why early assessment can improve recovery outcomes
Whether you're recovering from a recent injury or simply want to better understand your options, this is a practical guide to one of the most common sporting injuries in Australia.

Most people know Matt Mims and Sophie Johnston for what they do on the basketball court.
But their story is about much more than basketball.
It's about taking a chance, finding community and building a life in Wollongong.
We're proud to support Matt and Sophie as Joint Vision ambassadors, not just because they're talented athletes, but because of the positive impact they have on the people around them, from inspiring young basketballers to embracing everything that makes the Illawarra such a special place to call home.
Their recent feature with Region Illawarra is a great reminder that wellbeing is about more than physical health. It's about connection, purpose and belonging.
And yes, there's also a cavoodle named Teddy. 🐢 Who doesn't love a cavoodle?
Read their story below.

β€œI would have never probably said the word β€˜Wollongong’.” Sophie Johnston laughs when she thinks about it now. A few…

πŸ“š Learning never stops at Joint Vision.
Over the weekend, our sonography team spent two days with leading MSK ultrasound educator Stephen Bird from Bird Ultrasound, taking part in an intensive hands-on workshop focused on musculoskeletal imaging.
The sessions covered practical assessment techniques for the hand, wrist, shoulder and lower limb, helping our team further develop the skills they use every day to support patients throughout the Illawarra.
We're incredibly fortunate to have access to educators of Stephen's calibre and proud of our team's commitment to continual learning and professional development.
A big thank you to Stephen for sharing his knowledge and expertise. The feedback from everyone who attended has been fantastic.
