স্বামী আর ছোট্ট একটি সন্তান নিয়ে বেশ ভালই কাটছিল তাদের জীবন। কিন্তু হঠাৎ একটি জটিল রোগ এসে তার পুরো পরিবারটিকে ঢেকে দিয়েছিল কষ্টের ছায়ায়। যে মানুষটি ছিল পরিবারের মা তার জিহ্বায় বাসা বেঁধেছিল জটিল একটি রোগ। অসহায় হয়ে পরেছিল পুরো পরিবার।
স্বামী আর কোলের ছোট্ট সন্তানকে নিয়ে সুস্থ হতে চিকিৎসার জন্য কত জায়গায় না গিয়েছিলেন তারা। তারপরও কোন সমাধান মিলেনি তার জিহ্বার এই জটিল রোগটির। বলা যায় অনেকটাই দিশেহারা হয়ে গিয়েছিলেন তারা। ভেবেই নিয়েছিলেন তিনি সুস্থ হতে পারবেন না।
অবশেষে যখন আমার কাছে এলেন এবং অশ্রুশিক্ত নয়নে তার কষ্টের কথাগুলো আমাকে জানালেন, আমি নিজে খুব দুঃখ পেলাম। আর দেখলাম তার জিহ্বায় চাপ দিলে টপটপ করে পুঁজ বের হতো, ব্যথা করতো, খাবার খেতে কষ্ট হতো। দুর্বিসহ জীবন হয়ে গিয়েছিল তার।
আমি আমার চিকিৎসা জীবনে এমন রোগ আগে পাইনি তাই রোগটি সম্পর্কে জানতে এবং তাকে সুস্থ করতে আমার খুব আগ্রহ জন্মেছিল। তিনি যখন কেঁদে কেঁদে বললেনঃ "স্যার, আমি আমার সন্তানটির জন্য বাঁচতে চাই"। আমি তাকে ভরসা দিলাম, আপনি সুস্থ হবেন।
তার জিহ্বার জটিল রোগটি নিয়ে গবেষণা ও কয়েক দফায় মেডিকেল বোর্ড করে সকল পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষা সম্পন্ন করে অবশেষে তার অপারেশনের সিদ্ধান্ত দিলাম। এবং তাদের সম্মতি ক্রমে সকলের দোয়ায়, আমি আমার টিম নিয়ে তার একটি সফল অপারেশন সম্পন্ন করেছিলাম।
যে মানুষটি ভেবেছিল তিনি হয়তো আর বাঁচবে না। রোগ, স্বামী-সন্তানের চিন্তায় দুচোখে ঘুম ছিল না সেই মানুষটি আবার একটি রোগমুক্ত জীবন আর সুখের সংসার ফিরে পেয়েছেন। সবই ছিল সৃষ্টিকর্তার দান। তার এই বিরল রোগটি নিয়ে ম্যালিয়াস ইএনটি স্পেশালাইজড হসপিটালে আয়োজন করা হয়েছে একটি সাইয়েন্টিফিক সেমিনার।

Life was going quite well for them with her husband and their little child. But suddenly, a complicated disease entered their lives and cast a shadow of suffering over the entire family. The mother of the family had developed a rare and complex disease in her tongue. The whole family became helpless.
They went to many places seeking treatment, hoping that she would recover and return to a healthy life with her husband and little child. But they could not find any solution to her complicated tongue condition. They had become almost desperate and had started to believe that she might never recover.
Finally, when she came to me and tearfully shared her suffering, I was deeply saddened. I found that pus would come out drop by drop when pressure was applied to her tongue. She had pain and difficulty eating. Her life had become unbearable.
I had never encountered such a condition in my medical career before. This made me very interested in understanding the disease and finding a way to help her recover. When she cried and said, “Sir, I want to live for my child,” I gave her hope and reassured her, “You will recover.”
After researching her complicated tongue condition, conducting several medical board discussions, and completing all necessary investigations, we finally decided to perform surgery. With the consent of the family, the prayers of everyone, and together with my team, I successfully completed her operation.
The woman who once thought she might not survive—who could not sleep because of her illness and worries about her husband and child—has now returned to a disease-free life and a happy family. Everything was by the grace of the Almighty.
