There are some paths we choose… and others that feel like they have been quietly calling us all along.

End-of-life work is one of those paths.

It isn’t about having the perfect words or knowing how to fix what cannot be fixed. It is about learning how to stay. To listen. To hold space. To walk beside another human being through grief, change, uncertainty and the sacredness of their final chapter.

This October, I’m opening another small circle for my 7-Month End-of-Life Doula Certification Program through The Souls Nest.

Over seven months, we will explore the practical pieces of this work—grief and bereavement, advance care planning, legacy work, family dynamics, communication and building your practice—but we will also explore something just as important:

Who you are when someone needs you to simply be there.

This training is for caregivers, healers, hospice volunteers, healthcare workers, spiritual practitioners—or anyone who feels that little pull inside saying, I think I’m meant to do this.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to feel the call.

Begins October 7, 2026
6:00–8:00 PM
Carleton Place
7-month training
Limited to 7 participants
Investment: $777

If this keeps tugging at you, maybe there’s a reason.

The Sacred Companion

An Introduction to End-of-Life Care & Compassionate Presence

Begins Wednesday, September 16
4-Week Series
Wednesday Evenings | 6:00–7:30 PM
Investment: $222
Not everyone is called to become a death doula—but everyone can learn how to be a compassionate presence during life's most tender moments.
The Sacred Companion is a foundational course designed for those who feel called to support others through illness, aging, grief, and the end of life with confidence, compassion, and heart.
Whether you are caring for a loved one, exploring the path of end-of-life work, volunteering, working in healthcare, or simply wanting to feel more comfortable around death and dying, this course offers a gentle and meaningful introduction.

Together, we will explore:

Understanding death, dying, and the role of a death doula

The art of holding space and compassionate presence

Deep listening and meaningful communication

Supporting families through grief and loss

Caring for yourself while caring for others

Simple rituals, legacy, and creating meaningful moments

Upon completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from The Souls Nest.
For those who feel called to continue their journey, The Sacred Companion provides a beautiful foundation before enrolling in the End-of-Life Doula Certification Program.

The Privilege of Holding Space

Today, I stood where love whispers the loudest.
Not in celebration, not in certainty, but in the sacred space where one soul slowly loosens its grip on this world.

There is nothing glamorous about end-of-life care.
It is tired eyes, quiet tears, shaking hands, soft blankets, and chairs pulled close to a bedside.

It is families trying to memorize a face they have known for a lifetime.
It is medicine given with compassion, silence that speaks louder than words, and breaths counted not with fear, but with love.

People often ask how I can do this work.
The truth is...
I don't carry death.
I carry presence.
I witness courage that most people will never see.
I watch love refuse to leave the room, even when the body begins to.

And every single time, I leave reminded that what matters most has never been money, status, or things.
It has always been the hand that is held, the forehead that is kissed, the stories that are shared, and the permission to let go.

To hold space at the end of someone's life is one of the greatest privileges I have ever been given.

It has taught me to live more gently, love more freely, forgive more quickly, and never underestimate the power of simply being there.
Because in the end, we rarely remember the perfect words.
We remember who stayed.

And tonight, my heart is full— not because death visited, but because love never left.

As a society, we often avoid talking to children about death.

We worry we'll say the wrong thing.
We worry we'll make it worse.
We worry they'll be too young to understand.
But children are often already aware that something has changed.

They see the tears.
They feel the tension.
They notice the empty chair.
And when we don't give them words, they often create their own stories.
Stories that can feel lonely, confusing, and sometimes even frightening.

I am offering a new certificate program:

Talking with Kids About Dying, Death & Grief

A gentle 6-part online training designed to help parents, caregivers, educators, doulas, healthcare professionals, and anyone supporting children feel more confident navigating these important conversations.

Together we'll explore:
🤍 How children understand death at different ages
🤍 Talking about serious illness and dying
🤍 Supporting grieving children
🤍 Pregnancy and infant loss
🤍 Memory-making and legacy activities
🤍 How to become a compassionate guide during difficult times

Wednesdays evenings (every other week)
August 5 – October 14, 2026
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM EST
Online via Zoom
Investment: $375

Because children deserve honesty.
They deserve support.
And they deserve adults who are willing to walk beside them through life's hardest moments.

Twenty-one years ago, when my daughters Lydia and Ella died at birth, I was given a memory box.
Inside were precious reminders that their lives mattered. Tiny treasures that I would hold onto long after I left the hospital.

Today, my heart is overflowing with gratitude.
Students from our local high school have lovingly built these beautiful memory boxes to be donated to local hospitals for families experiencing the unimaginable loss of a baby through pregnancy or infancy.

Each box is more than wood and craftsmanship. It is a place to hold memories, footprints, photographs, hospital bracelets, tiny keepsakes, and pieces of a love story that will never be forgotten.
No parent should have to walk this journey, but when they do, I hope these boxes offer a small measure of comfort and a reminder that their baby mattered, their love matters, and their grief matters.

Thank you to the incredible students, teachers, and community members who helped bring this project to life. Your kindness will touch families during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

💜 In memory of Lydia & Ella, and in honour of every baby loved and missed.

Have you ever felt energy in your hands?

Have you ever walked into a room and instantly sensed the energy?

Have you ever known something before there was any logical reason to know it?

What if those experiences weren't your imagination?
What if they were invitations?

This July, I'm opening the doors to a small Reiki I training at The Souls Nest.

Over two gentle evenings, we'll explore energy, intuition, healing, and connection. You'll receive your Reiki Level I attunement, learn how to work with Reiki for yourself and others, and experience the beautiful integration of sound healing.

This isn't about becoming someone new.
It's about remembering who you've always been.
