Tonight was an incredible evening! We, at Amherst PharmaChoice, were named Business of Year (with fewer than 10 employees) by the Cumberland Chamber of Commerce.
It truly is an honour to accept this award.
When we started this journey (about a year ago), we knew opening a business wouldn't be easy. There have been long days, late nights, plenty of challenges, and probably a few moments where we wondered what we had gotten ourselves into!
Being a small business with 1–10 employees means that we wear a lot of hats. Some days we're pharmacists, problem solvers, cleaners, stock clerks, and everything in between. But what makes our business special isn't the building, the products on our shelves, or even the name above our door. It's the people.
I want to thank our incredible staff. We may be a small team, but we have some pretty big hearts. Every single one of you plays a part in making Amherst PharmaChoice what it is today. Your hard work, dedication, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond never go unnoticed.
To our families and friends, thank you for supporting us through the long hours, the stress, and the times when the business seemed to come before everything else. We couldn't do this without you.
And most importantly, to our customers and the community of Amherst, thank you.
When you choose to support a small, locally owned business, you're doing so much more than making a purchase. You're supporting local families, local jobs, and people who genuinely care about the community they serve.
We've always wanted Amherst PharmaChoice to be more than just a pharmacy. We wanted it to be a place where people feel welcomed, where they're treated like people and not numbers, and where they know someone genuinely cares.
To be recognized for something we've poured so much of ourselves into means more than words can express.
Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for this recognition, and congratulations to all the other nominees and award recipients tonight. It's an honour to be among so many wonderful local businesses.
