It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Dr. Gary Thomson, chiropractor, of Kelowna, British Columbia.
Dr. Gary was Dr. Kaileigh's uncle and played a significant role in shaping her journey into chiropractic. After just one conversation with him, she chose to pursue chiropractic as a career - and never looked back. He had a remarkable understanding of health and the human body and generously shared his knowledge, influencing many of the decisions she has made throughout her career. Dr. Kaileigh also had the privilege of completing her chiropractic preceptorship at his clinic in Kelowna, where she learned even more from his mentorship.
Dr. Gary passed away in a tragic swimming accident on the morning of Saturday, July 18, at Tugboat Bay in Kelowna. He was 67 years old, incredibly fit, worked out five days a week, and was among the top swimmers in his Masters swimming class. The exact cause of his passing is still unknown. He had told his wife he would meet her on the other side of the lake in 30 minutes, but he never arrived.
We are heartbroken by this loss and are keeping his wife Rachael, children, family, friends, patients, and everyone whose life he touched in our prayers. His legacy of serving others and inspiring healthier lives will continue to live on through the thousands of patients and people he impacted.
Rest in peace, Dr. Gary. You will be deeply missed. ❤
