⛳ Your golf game shouldn't end with a weekend of back pain.

Every swing puts rotational stress on your lower back. And when your spine is already dealing with disc problems, those repeated movements can make your favourite sport more uncomfortable.

The goal isn't just to survive 18 holes. It's to enjoy your round, your weekend, and everything that comes after.

At Burlington Spinal Decompression, we start with a detailed assessment to understand what's happening with your spine.

Think chiropractic care is only about back pain?

The spinal nerves branch out from the spine and carry signals throughout the body. When a nerve becomes irritated, you may notice symptoms such as pain, numbness, tingling, or pins and needles.

In this video, Dr. Brad Deakin explains why spinal health involves more than simply looking at where it hurts.

If you’ve been dealing with persistent or unusual symptoms, a thorough assessment can help you better understand what’s happening.

Back pain doesn’t always change your life all at once. Sometimes, it happens quietly.

You start choosing where you’ll sit.
Avoiding longer drives.
Changing how you get dressed.
Saying no to plans because you’re worried about tomorrow.
Sleeping with extra pillows just to get comfortable.
Stopping exercise because you’re afraid of making things worse.

After a while, those adjustments can start to feel “normal.”

But a useful question isn’t only “How bad is the pain?” It’s also: “What has the pain stopped you from doing?”

At Burlington Spinal Decompression, our assessment looks at your symptoms, history, movement, and spine to help build a personalized recovery plan.

Your MRI says spinal stenosis. What’s next?

A lot of people see “spinal stenosis” written on an MRI report without really understanding what it means.
There are two main types: canal stenosis and foraminal stenosis.

Both involve narrowing around the nerves, but in different areas of the spine. When that space becomes smaller, the nerves can become compressed and symptoms can extend beyond the back into the legs and mobility.

In this video, Dr. Brad explains the difference and why understanding what is happening in your spine matters.

If spinal stenosis is affecting your everyday activities, our $99 Initial Exam, regularly $300, includes an in-depth consultation, nerve scans, in-office imaging when appropriate, and review of existing imaging.

Dr. Brad knows what severe sciatica feels like because he lived it himself.

At 26, he experienced pain that felt like a knife twisting in his back and made it difficult to walk. That experience became part of what led him to dedicate his career to spinal decompression care.

In this video, Dr. Brad explains why experience matters when choosing where to go for sciatica, disc issues, or nerve pain.

At Burlington Spinal Decompression, every plan starts with a proper assessment, including in-office digital X-rays and advanced nerve scans, so we can understand what is happening before creating a personalized care plan.

Care may include 4D non-surgical spinal decompression as part of the treatment approach.

Kris had been dealing with really bad lower back pain going down his left leg for five to six years.

For a long time, the first five to ten steps every morning were stiff and painful.

In this video, Dr. Brad explains what was happening around Kris’ L4-L5 disc, including disc degeneration and compression that can contribute to pressure around the spinal nerves that control the legs.

Kris shares the progress that meant the most to him: waking up and having those first steps feel pain-free.

If lower back pain, leg pain, or morning stiffness are affecting your daily life, this video is worth watching.

If your sciatica gets worse in bed, your mattress may be part of the problem.

But only part.

A sagging mattress can let your spine twist through the night, which can add pressure to an already irritated nerve. Better sleep positioning can help, including sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees to keep your hips level.

A medium-firm mattress with a little give at the hip may also help you feel more comfortable.

But a new mattress does not settle a compressed nerve.

If your sciatica keeps getting worse at night, or if the pain keeps coming back, it may be time to understand what is actually irritating the nerve.

At Burlington Spinal Decompression, every plan starts with a proper assessment, including in-office digital X-rays and advanced nerve scans, so we can better understand what is happening before creating a personalized plan.
