This month marks my 25th year as a doula. I am honoured to have met so many people and been a part of their story.

I have learned so much from my time as a doula. I remember someone explaining that each encounter we have creates a picture of who we are. It's like a puzzle. Some people are our pivotal corner pieces. There are others who keep us safe and contained, like our edge pieces. Others may not be as big of an influence but still create our overall picture. I get to work with many amazing people, at sensitive times of their lives. People have their own patterns, ways of looking at things, coping and reflecting. This has helped me be adaptive, creative, and have greater understanding.

It has been so gratifying and wondrous, and I look forward to many more years, of being in service, walking alongside, and celebrating the birth of babies, and parents.

Road tripping with my hubby is a barrel of laughs. Thank goodness for adaptive cruise and lane assist. It was painful how much I was laughing and the thing was, what I was trying to say wasn't even that funny. I swear the bad smell was messing with my brain. I looked as if I had smoked something.

I am back now. We did 29 hours and 38 minutes of driving. We first headed to Bowmanville to the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for the May long weekend. My favourite way to spend that weekend. There is nothing like it, and I can't explain how peaceful I feel hangout trackside, waking up to the sound of cars on track, eating breakfast and having coffee of our laps while cars pull off their laps. We both had two naps a day, and goodness did we both need it.

Came home, to do some laundry and switch vehicles. Then out to New Brunswick to visit family. Got to see my inlaws new place, hangout with my oldest nephew, his partner, and son, see my sister-in-law, her hubby and their new dog.

From there we took my youngest nephew (on that side) to Montreal for his first F1 race. It was a great race to be at, and we love seeing how his love for racing has grown since we were last there. I have a knack for corrupting, I mean influencing others.

Now we are back home. Laundry partially done, work caught up on. Even managed to drop off a birth pool, because I hadn't spent enough time in the car.

This week is so full, but I love it. Tired from 10 days of fun. Grateful to get to sleep in my own bed tonight. And looking forward to a full week seeing clients. I am so lucky.

I have lowered the price on my prenatal classes.

I get it, times are tough. People need to consider how to best spend their money. They want to know if a group class is worth it when there is so. much information already out there.

Health care providers are seeing the impacts of people having to compromise and make that choice, and it sucks. Choosing the right type of class makes a big difference in how prepared a person feels, which in turn helps people navigate birth, and the early days with their baby better.

Not all classes are created equal. My goal is to provide content that is relevant and specific to each family's own experience, and the community that they live in. It is not generalized material for the masses. By having small groups, content is reflective of what is important to the individual. I hear people as they leave say how much more prepared and calmer they feel. When they reach out afterwards they share what a difference it made to their experience.

Because this matters - and you matter I have lowered the class fee to make quality prenatal education more accessible for families.
