Challenge Coin #36 from Michelle McKeaveney, co-founder of the River Valley Resilience Retreat.
When I first met Michelle at the AFRA conference in Edmonton, what immediately stood out to me was her raw, passionate and unfiltered energy that fills a room wherever she is. This truly shines even more in the work she is doing, along with her peers at the River Valley Resilience Retreat located along the banks of the South Saskatchewan River.
Their mission is to help close the gap where resources can be hard to access amongst first responders, public safety personnel, frontline and health care workers, veterans as well as their families.
Having a background herself in being a social worker, correctional officer and previously a spouse who served in the infantry in Croatia, amongst other experiences has lead Michelle to this path in becoming the co-founder of RVRR.
RVRR is a year-round space that offers a homelike environment for people to recharge, rest and relax and supporting individuals and their families in whatever way they can. They offer professional peer support to help overcome operational stress injury that create opportunities for post-traumatic growth.
Thank you Michelle for sharing your story and passions 🩵. To hear more about Michelle and RVRR, see previous post.
