If your eyes have felt gritty, watery, or just off lately, you are not imagining it.

Spring in Calgary can be rough on eye comfort because two things often happen at the same time: months of dry indoor heat have already stressed the tear film, and now tree pollen is starting to circulate.

That overlap can make symptoms harder to figure out on your own. For some people, dryness is the main issue. For others, allergies are part of the picture too.

A few simple things can help: preservative-free artificial tears, wraparound sunglasses outdoors, and keeping indoor air from getting too dry. If your symptoms have been lingering or the usual drops are not helping, it may be time to get your eyes assessed properly.
