We’re pleased to announce a $3 million donation from Jay Westman, Diana Joseph, and the Westman Charitable Foundation, for the creation of the first dedicated emergency space for senior patients in Western Canada.

Once completed, the Westman Family Seniors’ Emergency Pod at South Health Campus will provide 15 dedicated care spaces for older adult patients, designed to better address their complex needs and risks during an ED visit.

We’re profoundly grateful to the Westman family for their forward-thinking approach to philanthropy, generosity and a shared vision for creating the best-in-class care in Calgary.

Seeing the impact of philanthropy, up close 💙

We recently welcomed Sandra Schmirler Foundation scholars to the Foothills Medical Centre NICU for a behind-the-scenes tour of the unit their foundation has helped support.

The visit gave them an opportunity to see how their generosity helps provide the live-saving equipment that makes such a difference for Calgary’s tiniest patients 👶

And the celebration continues this fall, when NICU graduates will take the runway at our annual fashion show with Mercedes-Benz Country Hills!

Last August, construction began on the new Advanced Interventional Radiology Treatment Centre at Foothills Medical Centre. Today, Today, patients and their families are benefiting from this leading-edge centre.

Designed to deliver faster, more connected, minimally invasive care for people across Southern Alberta, this centre will help transform the patient experience from consultation through recovery.

Heart care continues to evolve - and so do the outcomes for patients.

Calgary's Mitral Valve Interventions Program is giving people access to minimally invasive treatment that means shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, and a better quality of life.

The team is now working to expand access to minimally invasive mitral valve therapies for patients who aren't candidates for current procedures, bringing this innovative care to even more people.
