Oh, the places my little idea from 2021 has brought me. 💭
I remember waking up one morning, in the middle of the pandemic, with one thought:
“I’m going to open a business.”
Two months later, I left my job and took the leap.
Since April 2021, I’ve worked relentlessly, passionately, and maybe a little too much (my husband would definitely agree 😂) to build a business that has completely changed my life.
Over the past five years, Golden Living has given me so much. It has challenged me, stretched me, humbled me, and helped me grow in ways I never thought possible.
If you’re a business owner, you know entrepreneurship isn’t just about building a company. It’s about building yourself. Your business has a way of exposing every part of you and asking you to become a stronger, wiser, healthier version of yourself. Your business reflects your energy.
These days, life looks a little different with my five-month-old by my side, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This season has reminded me that success doesn’t always look like doing more—it can also look like slowing down and making room for what matters most.
I am incredibly grateful for these last five years. I wouldn’t be here without my husband, my family, my friends, my clients, and the incredible community that has supported Golden Living across Nova Scotia and beyond.
My passion for helping seniors age at home still runs deep. It’s the reason I started, and it’s still the heartbeat behind everything I do. Along the way, though, I’ve discovered that I am more than just my business, and that’s been one of the greatest gifts of all.
They say many businesses don’t make it to five years.
Giving up was never an option for me.
