🫀 The final answer is… an Adult CPR Training Manikin!

Did you guess it correctly? 👏

This CPR manikin is used to teach and practice life-saving CPR skills, including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and proper hand placement. It gives students the opportunity to build confidence and muscle memory before facing a real emergency.

💡 Fun fact: High-quality CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of surviving a cardiac arrest. That’s why hands-on practice is such an important part of first aid training!

🚑 Photo 5 is… a Backboard!

Did you guess it correctly? 👏

A backboard is used by first responders to help move and transport patients who may have a serious injury. While it’s commonly associated with spinal injuries, today it’s most often used as a patient movement device, allowing rescuers to safely lift and carry someone when needed.

💡 Fun fact: Although they’re often called “spinal boards,” modern first aid and EMS practice uses backboards more selectively than in the past, with spinal motion restriction based on the patient’s condition rather than placing everyone on a board.

🚑 Photo 4 is… a Bag Valve Mask (BVM)!

Did you guess it correctly? 👏

A Bag Valve Mask, often called a BVM or Ambu bag, is used to provide breaths to someone who isn’t breathing or isn’t breathing adequately. It’s an essential piece of emergency equipment used by first responders, paramedics, and healthcare professionals to help ventilate a patient until more advanced care is available.

💡 Fun fact: A BVM can be connected to oxygen to deliver a higher concentration of oxygen than mouth-to-mouth rescue breaths.

👶 Photo #3 is… an Infant CPR Training Manikin!

Did you guess it correctly?

This training manikin is designed to help students learn and practice life-saving infant CPR skills, including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and proper hand placement—all in a safe, hands-on environment.

💡 Fun fact: Infant CPR is different from adult CPR. The compression depth, hand placement, and rescue breathing technique are all specifically adapted for babies under one year of age.

🚨 Photo 2 is… a Training AED (Automated External Defibrillator)! ⚡

Did you guess correctly?

This training device is used to teach people how to respond during a sudden cardiac arrest. It simulates the prompts and steps of a real AED, helping students build confidence and practice life-saving skills in a safe learning environment.

💡 Fun fact: Modern AEDs are designed to be used by everyday people, not just healthcare professionals. The device guides rescuers through each step with voice prompts.

🥁 Time for the reveal!

Photo #1 was an EpiPen® Trainer.

This training device is used to teach and practice how to administer epinephrine during a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). The trainer contains no medication and no needle, making it safe for hands-on learning.
