It’s Bonfire week in Lewes, so it feels like the right time to tell you where Menteath really comes from.
Before this, I spent 13 years in humanitarian response: refugee camps, male prisons, aviation disasters. I loved that work, but I carried it home with me. My nervous system forgot calm.
In the communities that welcomed me, I saw herbs and resins burned for healing. When I finally stopped, I started burning them myself, and found my way back to memories of my grandad, Fred, and the fires we sat around at Christmas.
Menteath began in 2019, in his memory. Every bottle still starts there.
On Thursday, Lewes burns to remember. What scent takes you home? Tell me below 🔥
