The Association of Late Deafened Adults brought their national convention to a close Sunday Oct 11th in Williamsburg VA. The Con starts with a welcome party then 3 days of workshops and speakers and many meals included. Saturday night finale with karaoke ALDA style then farewell breakfast Sunday morning. 2027 ALDACON location was announced Fri night and it will be Naperville IL. Just sharing a few highlights here. The highest award given is the I. king Jordan award . The 2026 winner was John Kinstler and presented by Jordan himself. Go to ALDA INC or ALDA.org for more information on the awards and ALDACON.

ALDA Ontario attended the 10th Anniversary of Canada VRS Sept 26th at the National Art Centre in Ottawa. I was most fortunate to speak with the Vicky Eateries the CEO from the CRTC - Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission and she has connected me to Director Nanao Kachi for further conversation about cellular and home phone accessibility.
All oral deaf Canadians should be requesting their phone companies for captioned phone services similar to CapTel and Hamilton CAPTEL large screen home phones or cellular apps such as INNO Ryo cellular caption apps.
