On this day in 2019, we officially opened the doors to our current headquarters at 15 Dundee Avenue, Mount Pearl — a milestone moment in our company’s journey. That day, we celebrated more than a new building. We unveiled the name “Home Port” — a reflection of Genoa’s roots in the shipbuilding industry and a tribute to Newfoundland and Labrador’s proud seafaring heritage.

Designed to support a growing team, Home Port brought expanded workspaces, collaboration areas, and enhanced technology that strengthened how we work together and serve our clients and project partners. It also became exactly what its name suggests — a welcoming home base for Genoa employees working across satellite offices and project sites throughout North America.

Seven years later, Home Port remains more than an office. It is a place where ideas take shape, teams connect, and our work continues to support shipbuilding and marine projects worldwide. We look back on this milestone with gratitude for everyone who helped bring Home Port to life and pride in the journey that continues within its walls.

This weekend, we’re proud to support the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation Telethon through a combined contribution from employee donations and a corporate donation.

For 42 years, the Janeway Telethon has brought communities across Newfoundland and Labrador together in support of the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre — our province’s only pediatric hospital. Through powerful stories, inspiring resilience, and incredible generosity, the Telethon highlights the life-changing impact of donor support for Janeway kids and their families.

Thank you to our employees for their generosity and to everyone who helps make this remarkable tradition possible. Together, we’re helping support the care, comfort, and hope that the Janeway provides to children and families across our province.

🚢 On this day in 2019, the CCGS Capt. Jacques Cartier — the second Offshore Fisheries Science Vessel (OFSV) built by Seaspan Shipyards under Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy — was launched.

The Offshore Fisheries Science Vessel program marked an important milestone under the National Shipbuilding Strategy, delivering the first full class of large vessels and highlighting the strength of Canadian shipbuilding, marine expertise, and innovation. The vessel supports critical science missions that help monitor fish stocks, study marine ecosystems, and better understand the impacts of climate change on our oceans.

We’re proud to be part of Canada’s shipbuilding story and to contribute alongside industry partners, helping shape the future of marine design and vessel development.
