Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. This day is about hope, understanding, and connection. If you’re struggling, please know you are not alone, your story matters, and help is available. Reach out, talk to someone, or simply take one small step toward care. Together, we can break the silence and support each other.

We are pleased to announce that Helen Bolshaw-Walker has stepped into the role of Interim Executive Director of the Patient/Client & Family Council.

As the Board continues its active recruitment process for a permanent Executive Director, Helen has graciously stepped into this interim leadership role to help ensure continuity and that our operations remain strong and uninterrupted during this period of transition.

Many know Helen from her outstanding work with Coordinated Access, her passionate advocacy efforts, and, of course, her bright and friendly smile. Helen brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and a deep commitment to the individuals and communities we serve.

Congratulations Helen!

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. In Canada alone, we tragically lost over 7,100 lives to opioid toxicity in 2024, that’s an average of 20 people every single day. Behind every number is a person, a family, a story. Let’s come together to break the stigma, learn the signs, and equip ourselves with naloxone.

Know the signs. Be ready. Save a life.

Calling 911 can save a life, and you’re protected. Canada’s Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act means if you call for help during an overdose, you won’t face charges for simple drug possession or related conditions. Don’t hesitate. Make the call.
