People often think you need to be in crisis to see a couples counsellor.

That isn’t true.

There are many periods in life where relationships quietly get stretched—when your family is growing, when work is demanding, when extended family stress shows up, when you’re just trying to keep everything going.

In those seasons, the most important relationship often doesn’t fall apart… it just slowly moves to the back burner.

Not because it doesn’t matter, but because life is full.

And over time, couples can start to feel a bit distant, a bit disconnected, or like they’re moving through life beside each other instead of with each other.

Couples counselling isn’t only for crisis.

It can also be for reconnection, for strengthening communication, and for getting back to feeling like a team again.

I offer virtual couples counselling throughout Saskatchewan.

If this resonates, share it with someone you love.

And honestly, when you’re already overwhelmed, grieving, anxious, or hurting, that process can feel really hard.

So I thought I’d share my profile today.

Today I did a few yoga poses in between sessions.
My body hurt. It ached.
The ground that once softened my body felt like torture.

Then I went into child’s pose.

My knees killed.

My body asked, why won’t you release?

And here, I cried.

And I didn’t cry tears.
I cried a gentle sigh.
A release.

I think that even when we give ourselves space to softly land, it takes some time for our bodies to settle, to ease in.

If you’re experiencing this right now, allow yourself some grace and know…

you don’t have to rush your body into feeling okay.
It will arrive in its own time.

There are kinds of grief that don’t arrive all at once.

They unfold slowly through caregiving, through aging parents, through changing roles in families, through loving people while knowing life is shifting beneath your feet.

This is often anticipatory grief. Ambiguous grief. The kind that exists alongside tenderness, responsibility, memory, and love.

In Even the Darkness Has Light, I reflect on these quiet emotional seasons — where grief and love live side by side, and where meaning is often found in the smallest moments of light.

Because even here, something steady remains.

Even in darkness, there is light.

A podcast like no other.

No noise.
No interviews.
No people talking over each other trying to be heard.

Just quiet, heartfelt reflections and intimate conversations about grief, trauma, healing, loneliness, relationships, fear, hope, and what it means to keep going when life changes you.

This podcast is for the people who feel deeply.
The ones lying awake at night thinking about their lives.
The ones carrying stories they rarely say out loud.

A softer space in a loud world. 🤍

Come back to yourself, whispers the night.
Come back, darling—you are here, and you are enough.
The day is done now, dear.
Wrap your arms around this night and be gentle.
Go gently.
Come back.
