Some of our clients may have noticed that their TruStage Life of Canada policy premium was not withdrawn this month.

TruStage Life of Canada, one of North America's largest providers of funeral funding plans, recently detected and successfully stopped a cybersecurity threat targeting its U.S. operations before customer personal information or systems were compromised. As a precaution, the company temporarily suspended certain operations while its cybersecurity team works to ensure all systems are secure.

Because TruStage provides funeral funding plans for funeral homes across Canada, this issue is affecting all funeral homes that partner with TruStage—not just Humphreys Funeral Home.

As a result, some scheduled premium withdrawals have been delayed. Premium payments will resume once TruStage confirms it is safe to do so. Policyholders will not be required to make double payments. Any missed premium withdrawals will simply be added to the end of the policy term.
