Can we normalize skin-to-skin cuddles WAY beyond the first few hours after birth? 🤍

Skin-to-skin is often talked about as something that’s important immediately after birth but those quiet moments of connection can continue to be meaningful throughout infancy.

Your baby’s nervous system is still developing, & your warmth, touch, smell, voice & heartbeat provide familiar sensory input while you connect with them.

& it isn’t just beneficial for baby.

Sometimes you need that quiet moment, too.

No schedule.
No fancy equipment.
No activity to check off your list.

Just you & your baby. 🤍

Of course, safety matters make sure you’re awake & alert, baby is positioned safely, & their airway remains clear.

So if you needed a sign to put your phone down & go have a cuddle...

This is it. 🥰

Okay… maybe I’m a little biased. 😉

Craniosacral therapy can be a gentle, supportive option for babies who are experiencing tension, asymmetry, feeding challenges or difficulty settling. Every baby is different, & CST works best as part of a bigger team of care when needed. 🤍

If you’re wondering whether CST may be appropriate for your little one, I offer free 15-minute phone or video consultations so we can chat first.

Noticing a flat spot on your baby’s head? You’re not alone. 🤍

Baby skulls are soft and still developing, which is exactly why positioning and movement can have such an impact on head shape.

One thing I always like to look at is more than just the shape of the head.

How comfortably does baby turn their head?
Do they consistently look one direction?
Is there tension through the neck or body?
Are they spending time in a variety of positions while awake?

Craniosacral therapy may be used as complementary support when tension or restricted movement is part of the picture. The goal isn’t to force or reshape the skull, it’s to support comfortable movement and overall body ease. 🌿

And if you’re concerned about your baby’s head shape, it’s always a good idea to bring it up with their healthcare provider. Sometimes additional support, such as physiotherapy, may be recommended.

Your baby’s head shape is just one piece of the puzzle.

🤍 A little resource for a really important conversation.

I made these postpartum depression resource magnets for moms & their support people to keep on the fridge as a simple reminder of some of the signs of postpartum depression.

The postpartum period can be beautiful, exhausting, overwhelming, emotional… sometimes all at once. & when you’re in the middle of it, it can be difficult to recognize that what you’re experiencing may be more than the typical ups & downs of new parenthood.

That’s why I think this is also a great conversation to have before baby arrives.

Talk to your partner, family member or support person about postpartum mental health before you’re in the thick of it.

🤍 What changes should they watch for?
🤍 What might be a sign that you’re struggling?
🤍 How would you like them to check in with you?
🤍 Who can you reach out to if you need more support?

Having that conversation ahead of time can create an open line of communication for those early postpartum days when asking for help might feel especially difficult.

& remember: postpartum depression can look different for everyone, & experiencing some of these signs doesn’t automatically mean you have PPD. If you or someone you love is struggling, reaching out to a healthcare provider is an important step.

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely overwhelmed to ask for support. 🤍

Save this post, share it with someone who may need it, & consider having that conversation before baby comes.

With it being Thanksgiving weekend, I’ve been thinking a little extra about all the things I have to be thankful for. 🤍🍂

This year has brought so many changes, big decisions, new opportunities, and a lot of growth and sometimes it’s easy to focus on what’s next instead of taking a moment to appreciate where you are.

So here are a few things I’m especially thankful for:

🤍 My clients - for trusting me, supporting my small business, and keeping me so busy since taking the leap to work for myself in September. I truly don’t take that for granted.

🤍 My body - for allowing me to move freely, play the sport I love, try new things, and continue challenging myself.

🤍 My partner - for always supporting my big-girl dreams, encouraging me to take the leap, and being my biggest cheerleader through all of it.

🤍 My doggies - for the unconditional love, the cuddles, and always being so excited to see me when I walk through the door.

Feeling especially grateful this Thanksgiving for the people, opportunities, and little things that make my life feel so full. 🥹🤍

Happy Thanksgiving from me & my little crew! 🦃🍂

At this point, making babies p**p is basically a personality trait 😂💩

If you’re a parent, you know… we celebrate the little things around here. 👏🏼

Helping little bodies relax, regulate & get things moving is one of my favourite parts of what I do. 🤍

And yes… I will absolutely get excited when your baby finally p**ps. 😂

Still smiling from the Bell Baby & Beyond Expo! 🤍✨

I had the best time being a vendor this weekend and getting to connect with so many amazing parents, parents-to-be, and families! Thank you to everyone who stopped by my table, entered my giveaway, asked questions, shared your stories, or simply came by to say hi. I truly loved every conversation. 🥹

And I got extra lucky with my vendor spot because I got to be right beside my work bestie, Chanelle from Evergreen Nourish Co. Chanelle L., RHN, B.Env.St. 🍐 Winnipeg Perinatal Nutritionist 🌿🤍 There’s nothing better than getting to do something you love alongside someone who makes it even more fun!

A HUGE thank you to Jennifer Jennifer Gonzalez for putting together such an amazing event and creating a space where local businesses and families can come together. These events take so much work behind the scenes, and it was so special to be a part of it!

I’m already looking forward to doing it all again in the spring! 🌸

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who came out and supported the expo and all of the small businesses involved. I’m so grateful to be part of this community. 🤍
