The first resident has officially moved into The Cedar! 🎉🏡

We're marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter at Elim Village Garrison Crossing as move-ins get underway in our final Independent Living residence.

With only a couple of suites remaining, The Cedar is now almost sold out. If you've been considering a move to Garrison Crossing, now is the time to explore your options. Contact our Presentation Centre to learn more and book a tour of the building.

Cor and W***y van Dongen have been Independent Living residents at Elim Village Fleetwood since 2003! W***y’s father established Burnaby Lake Greenhouses on the very land that would later become Elim. As Elim Village marks its 25th anniversary, Cor and W***y’s long-standing presence is a reminder of the memories rooted in this place.

Irene Goossen’s life story is one of resilience, loss, and unwavering faith. The Elim Village Garrison Crossing resident was born in 1932 in Kuldja, a city in the Uyghur region of China, to Mennonite immigrants from Kyrgyzstan.

Against all odds, Irene arrived in Canada in 1948 as part of a small group of refugees. Now, decades later, she reflects on a life shaped by perseverance and a deep trust in God’s provision.
