One way to boost self-esteem is to update a troubling memory about yourself, says psychologist Marisa Franco. As your current self, go back in time and give your younger self the reassurance you needed to hear back then.

There comes a point when what once protected us begins to limit us.

We mistake familiarity for safety, and staying the same can feel easier than facing the uncertainty of change. But growth asks us to outgrow the versions of ourselves that were built to survive, not to fully live.

Therapist, David Stefanos, MSW, RSW, shares:

"My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I also work from a trauma-informed lens, recognizing the ways our past experiences can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world.
David works with teens and adults. He has evening availability for virtual appointments."

Couples therapist, Kim Tanzer, MSW, RSW shares healthy communication strategies for couples.

"The way we learn to handle big emotions often begins in our family of origin. Unless our parents modeled how to talk about feelings and repair after conflict, we tend to carry unhealthy patterns into adulthood."
