“I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
We hear this constantly, and we want you to know: you’re not broken, and you’re not alone.
Becoming a parent changes you. Your body, your brain, your relationships, your sense of time, your identity. Psychologists call this matrescence, the developmental shift into motherhood, and it can be just as disorienting as adolescence.
You can love your child fiercely and still grieve the person you were before. You can be grateful and still miss your old freedom, your old body, your old rhythm. Neither feeling cancels out the other.
If you’re in it right now, we want you to hear this: what you’re feeling has a name, and it’s treatable. You don’t have to carry it alone.
We support parents through this exact transition.
