“For the last 3 years, I have lived with my daughter, Carie.

I'll soon be 89 and will lose my license to drive. Rather than be stuck in the house, Carie wanted a better quality of life for me.

She checked around and found Lord Dufferin. It was seeing the residents happy and content that made her make the choice of moving here.

Most of the people I have met, some being here 3 to 5 years, say there is no better place to be.

Between the staff director Taylor Sweet, Danita Lowrey in sales, Ester in the lobby, Bruce in the dining hall, as well as Apple watching over us, you couldn't ask for more.

The residents enjoy the activities and entertainment.

My daughter Carie made the right choice and God willing, I will enjoy life here for a long time.”

💕We’re always honoured to hear from our residents and their families. Thank you, Susan, for sharing your experience at Queenswood Villa in , . We’re so pleased we could make your family feel welcome and at home.

“What a find! Four months ago, my mom of 103 years, moved here to the Villa from a semi-independent living residence in Montreal in a weakened physical state. The warm, friendly and caring atmosphere of this unique residence has re-energized her. Mom is so happy and very willing to participate and engage with the other residents in the many activities offered throughout the week.

The entire staff, from the empathetic manager to the dedicated receptionist to the capable nurses to the friendly PSWs and even to the efficient maintenance person, is very attentive and kind and flexible. There is always a smile to be given, not only to the resident but also to each other resulting in a happy and positive environment.

And of course, another very important factor adding to the favorable ambiance is the kitchen staff comprised of the cooks and servers. They do not disappoint. Delicious and varied menus are to be enjoyed throughout the weeks. Personal requests are accommodated as best as possible. There is always a special occasion or holiday to look forward to and to celebrate.

In short, the Queenswood Villa is a family. One is not a number here but rather a new family friend in the making.”
