Everything is hard before it gets easy.
Most things worth having ask something of us first. Healing, healthy relationships, boundaries, building trust with yourself, learning to regulate your emotions.. none of it comes naturally when you’ve spent years surviving in ways that once made sense.
What people often don’t see is the maintenance work that happens behind the scenes. The therapy appointments, the uncomfortable conversations, the moments you choose not to abandon yourself, the practice of doing things differently over and over again. The quiet, unglamorous work rarely gets celebrated, but it’s what creates the ease everyone notices later.
Just because something feels difficult right now doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. New patterns take repetition, and growth asks for patience. Eventually, the things that once required effort become part of who you are.
Keep climbing. One day you’ll realize the life that feels natural to you now was once the thing you had to consciously practice. 🤍
