Fibre is a type of carbohydrate that plays a key role in gut health, blood sugar balance, and overall wellness. Soluble fibre (oats, beans, chia, flax, fruit) dissolves in water to form a gel and helps feed gut bacteria, while insoluble fibre (whole grains, veggies, nuts, seeds) adds bulk and helps keeps digestion moving.

Together, they support the gut microbiome, help protect colon cells, and may play a role in improving outcomes and reducing risk in cancers like colorectal. To find out more about adding soluble and insoluble fibre to your diet, read our latest blog post: https://ccnmclinics.ca/blog/soluble-vs-insoluble-fibre
