You think you're doing fine.
Then a song comes on, or you catch a smell, or it's just a random Tuesday, and grief hits like it's day one all over again.
That's a STUG. It's not a setback. It's not you "not healing." Grief doesn't move in a straight line ; it moves in waves, and sometimes those waves show up uninvited, years later, out of nowhere.
The upsurge is real, but so is the "temporary" part. It passes. You're not broken, and you're not back at square one. You're just still loving someone who isn't here anymore.
