What if “take a deep breath” isn’t always the best advice for pain? New blog from Joy Onyschak explains how over-breathing can lower CO₂, change pH and vascular tone, and affect sensation, cognition and balance — all of which can influence how your nervous system interprets pain. Read practical insights and alternatives for personalized breathing strategies. Read more: https://wix.to/2zZVmb7

When ventilation exceeds metabolic demand, CO₂ can fall. This can produce changes in pH and vascular tone—including cerebral vasoconstriction—and can affect sensations, cognition, balance and how the nervous system interprets what is happening in the body.

The valley called.

A full day of conversations followed by a full day of online advanced clinical breathwork training = time to unplug & find quiet in one of my favorite places.

Felt amazing to immerse myself in the sights, scents & sounds of Fall.

The art of connection.

My mom & I had a fun full circle day. We shared a wellness exhibitor booth HGMS Festival in my hometown of Manitou.

My mom Dolores Larson used to be a hair dresser & as a teen, I would assist her in the salon...washing hair, rinsing perms (those perm days!), getting someone tea or a magazine.

I learned alot about service & how to connect over a hair sink.

Mom still does her foot detox treatments & I'm back to seeing clients in Manitou every 2nd Sunday beginning Sept 20.

Summer Joy

I've had my hands in the dirt, cats & coursework this summer so I haven't posted much here.

☆☆The garden & advanced clinical breathwork course I'm doing demanded a new algorithm. ☆☆

Some things are still growing & ripening. New seeds being planted. Old branches trimmed. All in nature's time.

Grateful for nature setting the pace & priorities.... & those cats who remind us how to chill, be still & just breathe.

It was truly a joy!

To give my time to such a great cause surrounded by beauty.

If you couldn't make it to today's fundraising event, please follow House of Peace & consider donating online and join us next year!

The young women House of Peace stole my heart last year while offering them small group nervous system workshops.
☆Such dedication to becoming self-sufficient
☆ Incredible stories of resilience & joy after unimaginable traumas.

So it was an instant easy YES! when Rosa asked me to lead a breathwork session.

This event was generously hosted by Jan & team Pineridge Hollow + The Village. The food was delicious & such attention to detail. & those beet chips...

Rosa reminded us that we are all actually 'returning to the joy' that is already there & has never been more than a breath away.

Face down.

Recovery afternoon after a weekend full of stimulation & thinking & moving quickly volunteering at my home-town fair kitchen.

It was a very loooong & hot, humid day so I am satiated from all the connections (& pie) I am also speeeent.

Just me, the lawn, some daddy longlegs spiders (well & this video & need to post content about 'doing🧐)

Give this position on the lawn (or park near you) a try. Bonus points if you don't interrupt your rest to post about it💋
